Brown Bizen pottery glass handmade by a local artisan in Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
Bizen ware (yaki) is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns and it is considered to be one of the most outstanding kilns in Japanese pottery. Bizen yaki is unique as it does not use glaze, like in many other pottery. These ceramics are fired slowly over a long time in traditional climbing kilns with various chambers called Noborigama. The rustic appearance of Bizen ware is suitable for daily use.
